Stanford suspends BOSP summer quarter programs in 11 locations

Stanford has announced plans to suspend 11 BOSP Summer Quarter 2020-21 study away programs, while the viability of summer study abroad programs in Oxford and Santiago remain under review through early May.

While COVID-19 conditions are gradually improving in many places within the United States, the situation globally remains challenging. Travel restrictions, vaccination availability, and varying local health conditions are among the considerations that led to program cancellations.

Notifications to 325 students accepted into this year’s summer programs have been issued. The program cancellations impacted 278 undergraduates. BOSP staff advisors are available to help students consider alternative summer quarter plans. Students can reach out directly to bospstudy@lists.stanford.edu.
